Reconnect
Connection often lives in tiny moments.
Make their coffee. Send a message that says you are thinking about them. Remember something they mentioned and ask about it later. Take a task off their plate. Compliment something specific. Hold their hand. Sit beside them instead of across the room. Put your phone away when they talk.
Ask about the thing they are excited about. Celebrate a small win. Leave a note. Bring home their favorite snack. Give them a longer hug. Say thank you for something you normally overlook.
Ask, “What do you need from me today?” Listen to the answer.
Look at them when they are talking. Laugh at the old story you have heard a hundred times. Recreate a favorite date at home. Put on a song that reminds you of your early days. Send a photo of a memory.
Tell them what you admire about who they are—not only what they do.
Ask what dream they still have. Talk about your next adventure. Make plans that give you something to anticipate together.
Before bed, name one good thing about the day.
None of these actions is complicated. That is the point.
Strong relationships are not built only during anniversaries, vacations, and dramatic declarations. They are built through ordinary evidence that says: I notice you. I appreciate you. I am still choosing you.
